Christmas Trees

As I mentioned - my family has instilled many traditions with me and I want to do the same for my kids...so this year we decided to actually go and cut our Christmas tree down instead of just buying it. Growing up we used to do this same thing, but Nate and I figured it was just easier the past couple of years to just buy it. Anyhow, we ventured out to get Christmas trees with our dear friends the Pattersons. To start the morning off right we ate a big meal at IHOP and were on our way. This ended up being such a fun experience - especially for Nate who had much more help from Jim getting the tree set up than I've ever been able to offer in the past!

The start of the adventure.

We found it - Riley's 1st Christmas tree!!

Who needs the tractor to pull your tree in when you've got these 2 manly men?!

The finished product

Riley is very excited about his tree. We put it in the living room so he can't get to it quite as easily, but many times a day he asks (by pointing and saying "dat") to go and see it. He'll sit there and look at it and when given the opportunity definitely wants to touch it - we now have our hands full keeping him out of that room.
