4th of July Weekend

Riley has been around for two 4th of Julys and has still yet to see fireworks. Our tuckered out boy was asleep by 7:30 having not napped all day he couldn't make it any longer. Nate and I contemplated waking him up for the fireworks, but were so exhausted ourselves we decided to enjoy one more year of not having to worry about it. Next year Riley is going to be SOOO excited!

We spent July 3rd out at Fox Island enjoying the gorgeous weather and swimming. Riley was in the water for a good 2+ hours swimming and floating. We found lots of jelly fishes which he loved to hold and throw at people.

Riley floating with Great Grandpa Lobeda - love their matching hats!

Nate even got in the water...a rare occasion in salt water

We spent the 4th out at my dad's side's cabin in Pt. Ludlow. Every year we go out there and have a bit of a family reunion with all of my Grandpa's siblings' families. There were 86 of us in attendance this year. Last year Riley was the youngest - this year there were 3 younger than him! It's fun to see my generation with their growing families. Riley enjoyed playing with all the cousins. He also loved seeing the stuffed deer on the cabin wall and real bear rug. The cabin was built by my Great Grandpa and has been a wonderful piece of history to our family. These are the family traditions I think are more and more important and special as I get older. My Great Aunt Dori passed away 4th of July morning so our gathering was also a special celebration of her life as we celebrated our freedoms here in the US and more importantly our freedom in Christ.
