Morning at the Zoo

Riley and I enjoyed an awesome day at the zoo Monday morning. It was great weather and we had the place to ourselves. The animals were all really funny and very entertaining. Riley loved all the special attention. The zoo also has some renovations going on so Riley got to see all sorts of "Mighty Machines" as he calls them (diggers, bulldozers, etc.). He said his favorite part was the monkey...you'll see why below even though the pictures posted out of order.

Fun on the slides

Riley and his monkey friend
They just sat down and had a little chat with each other
This was the monkey swinging over from the opposite side of the cage to see Riley when we first got there.
The tiger that then turned and peed on the glass right in front of us. We had a good laugh!
The elephants were making all sorts of noise. Riley was trying to fit through the fence to go see them.
Oooooh, sharks!
I'm bummed this posted out of order - this is what happens when you get too close to a peacock.
Riley walked up to the peacock and kept getting closer and then the peacock turned and spread out his feathers in a bit of discomfort. Riley wasn't very afraid, but I got a little shaken and we then had to talk about how we needed to give animals their space - especially wild ones!
