Memorial Day Weekend

We spent a gorgeous weekend out at Fox Island with my parents and Grandpa. It was just perfect weather - what a treat for Memorial Day!! Not only was the weather wonderful, but we also were blessed with incredible low tides of -3.6!! Riley could walk forever and ever on the sand and look at star fish, crabs, sand dollars, etc. His favorite thing was finding the squirters and stepping on their necks and watching them disappear into the sand. Grandpa even dug up some Gooey Ducks to enjoy.

It was fun to see Riley out there - it was like heaven for this over energized little boy. He walks right out into the water as if it's 80 degrees. He loved splashing around and stomping his feet. He spent time filling his truck with rocks and throwing rocks in the water. He even liked picking up the jelly fish and returning them to the Sound. I watch him and am so excited that he too gets to enjoy such a beautiful place and make many memories like I got to while growing up there. He slept like a dream there as well which was a bonus!!
We can't wait to enjoy more time out there all summer. Bring on the good weather!!

The way little boys live, explore and love life is just amazing. I love being a mom to a boy (soon to be boys!) and am so happy for you to experience this as well, truly a wonderful thing! My mom always has said, "girls watch life and boys live it" I think in many ways it's true. (Not in every case of course....)... it's so fun to explore with Coleson and live life through him.(and go on those worm and bug hunts!) I am so glad you are enjoying your boy, too.
